I'm sitting with a full belly thinking about how disgusting it is that some like me have so much food and so many are starving. So I just read bits and bobs of a book called "what to say to a hungry world?". It really got me thinking alot and made me quite disgusted. Shane Claiborne also talks a bit about it in his book Irresistible Revolution. These 2 books both talk about how if everyone shared everything everything would have enough. So true. We're far from the picture of this communal living style we see in the book of Acts. He also says something quite brash so brace yourselves...
"If a child starves whilst a Christian has more than enough food, than the Christian is guilty of murder."
Wow. Ok just calm down. I'm not sure if I would have as extreme of a perspective as Claiborne, but I love this in that in really got me thinking. So much so that now I'm just really reflecting on what actions I can take against hunger and poverty. Anyway.
